Mixtaplay Music App

Project Overview

Mixtaplay is a great audio app that enables a straightforward playlist system to guarantee that you can effortlessly access your music and arrange it however you like. Users of Mixtaplay can make playlists, listen to music, and search for their favorite song, artist, or album. Modern design makes it extendable and simple to use. With the appearance of Mixtaplay, you can now share only one account you've made with up to 5 members of your family, allowing them to use it with a mobile app, web version, and wristwatch.

Problem statement

Many music lovers all around the world use a variety of devices, which makes it difficult for them to set up additional user accounts for each one and remember to redownload their music onto each new gadget. To learn the song's name and download it to their new smartphone, they must return to the music app on their original device. How can we assist users by not creating another user access to each of their devices and letting them have easy access to their music playlist on another device?

Solutions

You can share your online account access with additional devices with Mixtaplay, and you can approve or deactivate devices from your initial account. Mixtaplay allows you to create a different user's personal playlist within the online access you share and with your personal password with your every device. We give your playlist a backup name and enable you to download the music you previously had on another device again in order to use it with the new device.

Tools used

  • Figjam
  • Figma
  • Google form

Team Goal The goal of the team members is to design a music player that will allow users to access their playlist of downloaded music on each device they log in too. A music player that music lovers will enjoy using on a daily basis.

Competitive analysis

We employ a comparative study by examining existing music apps to acquire a deeper grasp of the competitor's features, functions, flows, and sensations. We also investigated existing app bug issues and complaints from users in order to gather strength and ratings, and prepared a list of them. We divided the team into three groups to do this study on each of the futures we are designing from existing apps.

User research

After conducting an interview and online survey using a Google form to understand user issues, identify trends, and determine what music fans want, we conducted additional research to gather information on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to understand issues that existing musical apps lack from user reviews in order to meet their target in our design.

User persona

Following user interviews and surveys, personas were created to aid in the ideation process, allowing us to visualize our prospective users' lives and how our product will help them solve their problems.

Empathy map

We sought to empathize with existing musical lovers as much as possible by emphasizing their pain points on each platform we used to conduct research polls. The key goal is to learn about them and comprehend their wants and complaints.

Pain Points

The following issue was discovered during the research:

  • Users are battling to create new internet access for each device they own, which causes them to be afraid of losing the existing music they have been listening to on other devices.
  • The appearance of several advertisement pop-ups limits the user experience.
  • The musical app is slower to play because of older devices used based on the UI design of the app
  • My library's menu options are too numerous to use; perhaps they should remove some menu options and simplify everything.
  • There is no need for musical app suggestions.
